Sickness
I want to know what’s wrong with me.
About a month ago I started noticing that my skin was more tender than usual… if I brushed my hand down my stomach or thigh, it tingled more than it should have, in an almost painful way. I thought at first that it was my lymph nodes swelling up to fight a cold but weeks passed and no sickness came, and the feeling got worse. Across my arms and my neck, touch hurt me. It started to hurt to put clothes on because of the friction of the material on my skin. I did express worry to my parents and at first, their reaction was similar to mine: that it was probably something too trivial to bother the doctor with. But the more it hurt, the more concerned we’ve become.
Today is the worst.
I gave blood today, and I think that’s why. All of a sudden I have these red bumps on my skin, almost like a rash but different, all along my legs. Any small pressure I apply to them stings horribly, like being slapped. I can’t rest my elbows on my thighs or press my hand to my stomach. It feels like my entire body is bruised just under the surface of my skin. And now I’m here writing this post because I can’t sleep, due to the fact that it hurts me to lie down. It’s too much pressure on me.
I hate going to the doctor for things that don’t matter but I’m starting to get scared. What’s wrong with me?
